Sasuke and Sakura are dating, but she’s cheating on him with Itachi, because he’s better than Sasuke in every way. And everyone knows about except for Sasuke. So Sasuke goes along trusting Sakura, and protecting her while she doesn’t really need him. In the end Itachi tells Sasuke what he and Sakura are up to, they fight, and (of course) Sasuke loses.
